Let us remember together the fate-changing events of Hungarian history in the common language of our dance and music culture! Hungary's largest professional dance ensemble, the Hungarian National Dance Ensemble on July 4 at the Szeged Open Air Games, will present a spectacular and large-scale dance performance on the largest open-air stage of Hungary, which will also be the solemn opening of the 2026 season in Dóm Square. The first part of the performance recalls the ominous times before the Battle of Mohács in the performance of Dance Ensemble Dance chronicles on the actions of György Dózsa with József Wunderlich in the title role.

In the second act Zoltán Zsuráfszky, Artist of Nation, Kossuth Prize winner and Zs. Zsuzsa Zs. Vincze, the premiere of the special stage dance television of choreographers, draws attention to our national tragedy, Rekviem Mohácsért, which still has serious consequences, on the 500th anniversary of the Battle of Mohács. Dózsa was destroyed at Timisoara, and Mohács soon followed. The national tragedies followed one another, but the indestructible life force of the Hungarians is that in the midst of these tragedies he saved his human, national and historical needs into the spirit. After Timisoara and Mohács, the actual Hungarian literature was born and the Hungarian consciousness unfolded. In the midst of the shocks and collapses of the century, there was a national rise in the field of the spirit. It is not only a desperate century, but also a century of Hungarian hope. Although the production of the Hungarian National Dance Ensemble is about mournful times and tragically fateful heroes, the aim is to admire the timeless beauty and strength of our own culture, in addition to the touching and uplifting moments of common memory, the ideality of belonging and the social experience.
